Grass Roots Ministries is a non-profit organization based out of First United Methodist Church in New Carlisle, Ohio. The ministry is a multi-denominational group of people whose mission is to alleviate suffering and break the cycle of poverty in the communities around Tarime, Tanzania (near Lake Victoria). Through a hands on community based approach, relationships are built and problems are defined and solved utilizing resources from the local community and the United States. The strength of the organization is the teamwork of the Tanzanians, the volunteer missionaries, and the board of trustees in the U.S.A.
Grass Roots started with Angel House Orphanage in December 2004. A school is currently under construction to meet the communities’ educational needs.
